Director of Museo Egizio – Turin
Christian Greco has been Director of the Museo Egizio since 2014. He directed the re-functionalization project, the renewal of the exhibition and the exhibition itinerary, completed on March 31st 2015, which led to the transformation of the Museo Egizio, from the antiquarian museum to the archaeological museum. Trained mainly in the Netherlands, he is an Egyptologist with extensive experience in museums: he has curated numerous exhibition projects in the Netherlands, Japan, Finland, Spain and Scotland. During his direction of the Museo Egizio he has developed important international collaborations with museums, universities and research institutes all over the world. Involved as a teacher and in the program of material culture courses of Ancient Egypt and museology of the University of Turin and Pavia, of the School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, of the IUSS School of Pavia. He was a member of the Epigraphic Survey of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in Luxor and, since 2011, he is co-director of the Dutch archaeological mission in Saqqara. He has more popular and scientific publications to his credit. Since 2015 he is a member of the technical-scientific committee for the archaeological heritage of MiBACT and of the C.d.A. of the MANN (Museo Archeologico Nazionale of Naples); from 2018 he is a member of the scientific committee of the school of cultural heritage and activities and tourism.
